EMI MUSIC GROUP

REDISCOVERING THIS GREAT MUSIC BUSINESS

Music piracy was at an all time high, iTunes was racking up millions of downloads a day and CD sales were experiencing a massive decline. Not surprisingly, industry-wide lack of confidence in the music sector and profit warnings meant that EMI was struggling to engage with shareholders. Our challenge was to reclaim the investor.

CORPORATE REPORTING

Despite the mood of the City at the time, with so much British heritage and an unrivalled stable of artists, it was hard to lose sight of the positives. Carnegie Orr's approach was to position EMI as the inspiration for change in their sector. By reminding audiences how EMI identifies and nurtures top talent such as Corinne Bailey Rae, Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse, EMI’s kudos could be re-affirmed.

The end result was a clear, confident and vibrant annual report – a reflection of the passion, confidence and belief EMI has in its artists, its management and the future of the industry.

'We believe in music' encapsulates this showcase report that helped restore some investor confidence in the music business
