A most notable and successful project Carnegie Orr created for Unilever was their global remuneration system. The system had already been instrumental in increasing the performance of the company on a regional basis in the UK. It was now time to take that success and roll it out globally.
To retain consistency across their corporate communications, we felt any employee engagement initiative had to be an internal manifestation of the company's global marketing strategy ‘reconnecting with the consumer’. We created 'The Chairman’s toolkit’ to help the heads of all Unilever companies to roll out the remuneration system across their own businesses. Presentations were also produced to launch the new pay system in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
The toolkit led to further engagement initiatives including a multi-lingual career development pack to 10 European countries, Latin America and Asia. ‘How to build a successful career in Unilever’ was followed by re-branded employee surveys, research reports, newsletters, magazines, corporate brochures and presentation materials.
